ABA's Day of Education, sponsored by Ingram, was held in conjunction with BookExpo America  on May 25, and included sessions ranging from a new survey on book-buying behavior to a spirited debate among industry leaders about the value of the book in a digital age.

The 15 education sessions, roundtable discussions, and workshops at the Day of Education covered a wide array of topics, and many of the handouts for the sessions are available to ABA members.

Wednesday's ABA Celebration of Bookselling Luncheon, sponsored by Baker & Taylor, was once again a highlight of BEA, featuring authors who were both funny and moving, often simultaneously.

Innovative 3D bookmarks from emotionGallery are a hit with booksellers and their customers -- and emotionGallery is making a contribution to the American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression on the sale of the bookmarks.

To give booksellers a chance to become familiar with its products, emotionGallery is giving new customers 144 bookmarks and a compact display. Booksellers will only pay for future orders.

E-FairnessWith states facing significant budget shortfalls, there is a tremendous opportunity to win victories for sales tax equity around the country. ABA has created an  E-Fairness Action Kit (E-FACT) that provides booksellers with crucial, state-specific tools to help them in their e-fairness outreach efforts.

The New York Times recently featured a prominent article on the partnership between ABA and Google, which will bring Google Editions -- the “device-agnostic” e-book program -- to ABA members.

The partnership was announced to ABA at BookExpo America in May, and Google Editions is expected to launch this summer.

The literate and intelligent reviews in the Harper's Magazine "New Books" feature are now available to ABA member bookstores. Each month, booksellers will have access to this insightful coverage on BookWeb.org, along with an HTML version of the content, which stores can include in customer newsletters.
